Love, chocolate and flowers are in the air this Valentine’s Day at DHS.

Alex Hess’ floral design class will be selling flower bouquets of many different sizes on campus that could serve as a thoughtful gift for someone’s Valentine. Sophomore Melissa Jurado hopes to go on a dinner date with her significant other after school.

But not everyone enjoys the romantic holiday. “I think it’s just a waste of money and time,” senior Akilah Young said.

As the campus supervisor, Demond Huff notices excessive PDA, or public displays of affection, and an increase in the number of tardies on Feb. 14.
