A crowd of about 70 seniors showed up at Ron and Mary Brown Stadium the evening of June 6 for the first annual Senior Sunset, the partnering event to Senior Sunrise which took place on the first day of school.

The seniors sat on the bleachers, signed yearbooks and passed around footballs and Nerf balls while waiting for the sunset.

“It’s a great way to end the way we began,” senior Erin Leary said. “I don’t have a class tomorrow, so it was nice to see so many people on this last night of high school.”

At approximately 8:30 p.m., the seniors climbed up to the top of the bleachers to see the sun set in the west over the treetops. Although the view was partially blocked by trees and buildings, seniors still pressed up to the fence to enjoy the panorama of the sunset.

Afterward, many seniors headed to the Quad to take part in Senior Campout, which lasted until the morning of June 7, the last day of school. Some seniors, in the attempt to make the night comfortable, brought blankets and sleeping bags to share.
