A second victory, another story

DHS Varsity football shake the hands of their opponents after a victory of 62-0 on September 7
–HUB correspondent–The Davis senior high varsity football team beat Armijo 62-0 on Friday Sept. 7.Despite the victory, senior Kevin Sorenson went into the game with a a feeling of caution
“we should beat them, but should get too cocky, the first game [Yuba City] we went in too cocky, and lost” Kevin Sorenson said.

The first touch down of the night was made by junior wide receiver, C.K Hicks, number 88. By the end of the second quarter, DHS pulled together another 4 touchdowns made by juniors Winfred Roberson, 2, and Brendan McDonald, 45.

As the third quarter ended, the score was a sure victory reading 53-0, and many other teams would have just started slugging, thinking they had the win in the bag, but not the blue devils.

“I knew my team was ready. I knew i had my job to do, and we all did it right” team captain and senior Grant Dickerson said.

With fire still burning in him, senior wide receiver Daniel Martin ran 64 yards for the final touchdown of the night, bringing the final score to 62-0

” I love the way they played for each other” head coach Steve Smyte said about his players
