Harry Potter Homecoming Rally

Davis High Cheerleaders got into formation to help kick off a Harry Potter Homecoming 2012

Davis High gathered together on Monday Oct. 15 to celebrate Davis High’s fall athletes. The rally was hosted by Benjamin Crook, Gabby Gutierrez and Raquel Valdez from the Student Government class.

 

Davis High’s madrigals opened the rally by singing the national anthem and then Davis High’s anthem.

 

The rally festivities began with cheering contests between classes. By yelling the loudest and showing the most spirit, the junior class won.

 

Athletes from the women’s water polo and women’s volleyball team entered next and were each recognized by the crowd. The last team to enter was the Davis High football team, who let out a cheer in the middle of the gym in front of all their fans.

 

Sophomore and Junior class royalty were announced as well as the nominees for Homecoming Queen and King were. Results will be revealed at the football game on Friday Oct. 19.

 

Student government then held a short fashion show to announce the weeks spirit days. Each day was represented by two models sporting the appropriate wear.

 

This included a slitherin costume for Monday’s “Sport your house day”,  a robber for “-ER day” Tuesday, Dumbledore for Wednesdays “Poly Juice day”. ASB vice president Jacob Muller came on to the stage wearing his onesies to show that Thursday will be “Throw back day”. Finally, three girls came center gym decked out in blue for “Freakishly Blue Friday”

 

Following the costumes, two students from each class participated in the “Tri-Wizard Tournament”. Seniors Derek Pleasants and Reid Blankenship won the competition for the senior class.

The Davis High pep band played the Harry Potter theme song as students exited the gym.
