The DHS men’s water polo team’s won 18-2 on October 17 against Jesuit in a flawless match between the two rivals.
Just last year, Jesuit had managed a narrow victory of 13-12 against the Blue Devils.
Senior Connor Stapleton started the team out strong, scoring all six of the goals made by Davis High in the first period.
Goalkeeper, freshman Jeff Stark, blocked numerous attempts made by Jesuit and finished the game having let in only two goals, while the offensive players scored goal after goal on their opponents..
The Devils maintained their lead into the second period and in to half time, never giving Jesuit the chance to catch up.
“We crushed them!” the varsity team said after defeating their opponents.
“I would say that it was an excellent team effort. We came out strong and we never let up,” said Davis High senior Jack Blattner. “It felt really good to beat the team that beat us at sections,” he added.
