Lines formed out side of the Student Government room on Feb. 22 during break as students awaited their chance to vote for Davis High’s ASB elected officers.

Four days later, the election results were released during fourth period announcements.

The new ASB President and ASB Vice President are juniors Rami Rashmawi and Tara Mullen, respectively. Their goals for the upcoming year are to get students involved.

“[I want to] make sure that every student identifies with at least one of the ASB activities,” Rashmawi said.

Mullen agreed by adding, “[I want to] connect students through a wide variety of activities that encourage the attendance of everyone,” she said.

Along with Mullen and Rashmawi, five other juniors will hold ASB positions next year.

Amani Jones will be the ASB Treasurer, Cat Archer the Communications Commissioner, Lara Vanderbilt the Secretary, Chelsea Sacramento the ASB Clubs Commissioner and Maddie Asta the ASB School Board Representative.

The overall goal of the officers is to ensure that all of the student body is informed about events involved in school activities.

Specifically, ASB School Board Representative and junior Maddie Asta wants to “get more people involved in student forum so that they’re able to know what’s going on,” she said.

Likewise, junior and ASB Clubs Commissioner Chelsea Sacramento would like clubs to be more involved, ”because I feel that clubs are the spirit which the school embodies,” she said.
