Soon the bags will be packed and many Davis High seniors will be on their way to college. New Adventures and new people will await. Many seniors look forward to their new classes and roommate, but some DHS seniors have more to look forward to: college sports.

Heather Johnson, who will be playing water polo for UC Davis, says she is excited to join the team and meet new people. She has been playing water polo since she was seven and knows many of the players who are already on the team.

“I’m going to get to experience something that not a lot of people get to experience,” Johnson said.

While Johnson is staying close by, Alex Rieger is packing her bags and headed across the country to swim for Georgia Tech. Not only is Rieger looking forward to great pool complex and training centers, she is also excited about the academics.

“I’m looking forward to figuring out what I want to pursue later in life, like job wise,” Rieger said.
