Devils dominate Casa Robles Rams on senior night

The men’s varsity lacrosse team crushed the Casa Robles Rams on April 25, with a score of 21-0. The Devils won its last home game of the season and celebrated a victorious senior night.

At 7 p.m., the recognition ceremony began.

Senior Connal Hart began playing lacrosse in 8th grade and decided to play defense right away. He was honored on the Second Team All League in 2013. Hart plans to play at UC Davis  under Adam Kenny.

Four years ago, senior Spencer Zenner first played lacrosse on a U-15 team as a defender, coached by Bobby Aiello. Because of Zenner’s interest in lacrosse, he influenced his siblings, Audrey and Carson to play too. Zenner plans to attend San Diego State University.

Senior Daniel Rowen has been playing lacrosse for seven years now and remembers winning the league championship during his sophomore year. He was also involved in cross country, ski and mountain bike teams. Rowen will attend the University of Colorado Boulder in the fall.

Since the 6th grade, senior Kevin Willefert played lacrosse. Willefert’s greatest memory was when Coach Juri called his name for the varsity roster as a freshman. Willefert will study economics and political science at UC Santa Barbara.

Senior Ryan Amesbury has played lacrosse for five years and enjoyed playing with the varsity team in the last three years. He has been close friends with many teammates, including seniors Kian Reno, Spencer Zenner, Rowen, and Hart since preschool. Amesbury will attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a major in Business Administration.

Senior Kian Reno started playing lacrosse in the 6th grade and played on the varsity team for four years. Reno’s favorite lacrosse memory was winning the league championships in 2012 and also bonding with teammates. Reno will major in Integrated Physiology and continue to play lacrosse at University of Colorado Boulder.

Also on the varsity lacrosse team for four years, senior Mark Bruemmer began playing lacrosse in 6th grade. He was the first U-13 team for DLA and received two all league honorable mentions. Bruemmer plans to attend Marquette University and try out for the lacrosse team.

Senior Logan Davis played lacrosse for five years. He remembers beating Monte Vista in overtime after three straight defeats. Davis plans to be a life guard this summer and transfer to UCSB.

Senior Aiden Delplanque made the varsity lacrosse team in his junior year after playing lacrosse for five years. Delphanque gained many friendships through lacrosse. He plans to attend UCD to study Mechanical Engineering.

Senior Vikram Prathap has been playing lacrosse for seven years and thoroughly enjoyed playing with the Blue Devils. Prathap will go to UCLA and major in neuroscience.

Senior Sam Gellen started playing lacrosse in 6th grade and loves his seven years of football experience to defend the lacrosse goal. Gellen was recruited to play lacrosse as a Division 3 lacrosse team competing in the North Coast Athletic Conference at Wabash College in Indiana.

After six years of playing lacrosse, senior Daniel Pardee favorite memories were beating Granite Bay for Davis’ first time ever NCS win and beating Monte Vista in over time this year. Pardee plans to go to Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio and play Division 3 lacrosse for Yeomen.

The seniors shared many memorable moments with the men’s varsity lacrosse team.
