As homecoming rolls around every fall, the ballots get sent out by student government to every fourth period class with instructions to write down your choice for each class’ royalty picks. However, some student believe this voting process is not very efficient.

“I didn’t even get a ballot, neither did my friend, and probably many other people […] A vote is fair, but the way the voting works, where the student government members come to your classroom is not working,” sophomore Jackson Laird said.

Other students are content with the way the voting system is run.

“I feel like it’s school majority if the homecoming king and queen are the ones who get the most votes. They should be the winners […] The king and queen should be the most school spirited and most liked around the school,” sophomore Karlie Kijanka said.

Senior Nathan Curtis feels that students should know the people in their class before deciding who to vote for homecoming queen and king.

“The sophomores have only been here for three weeks, that’s nowhere near long enough to get to know their class,” Curtis said.
