HOMECOMING: No dance this year

There will not be a homecoming dance after the football game on Sept. 26. Instead, a fall dance is scheduled for Oct.10 and is being planned by the Student Government class.

In past years, there has been a dance either on the same Friday as the homecoming football game or the Friday before.

When the dance was after the football game, there was low attendance because students were tired after the homecoming parade and game.

The homecoming dance is being replaced by the MORP dance. The theme of the dance is backwards prom. At the dance, there will be a band and “really good student DJs,” senior Sydney Maguire said.

Maguire is in charge of planning the dance, with the help of teacher Eric Morgan. “I love [the change of dances]. It makes homecoming easier to handle,” Morgan said.

MORP will start at 8 p.m. and end at 11 p.m.

“I would prefer a homecoming dance, but I’m excited for MORP!” Maguire said.
