The Davis High J.V. women’s volleyball team stumped Elk Grove’s Sheldon High in two sets with a score of 25-3, 25-13 on Oct. 21.

Sheldon was off to a bad start with their first serve which did not make it over the net. The teams’ got a rally going with a close call for DHS and Sheldon almost scoring a rally point. But, in a slick dive sophomore outside hitter Sami Esquivas saved the ball with her elbow.

Sophomore libero Genna Chambers scored point after point for Davis with some untouchable serves. One serve hit an unaware Sheldon player in the mouth.

The second game started with sophomore setter Alli Chambers as server. The point was followed up by a rhythmic set, set, and spike teamwork from Sydney Russo, Shea Ochoa, and Ipek Midillioglu.

“The first game we did awesome, but during the second game we got a little too comfortable and the score showed that.” Genna Chambers said.
