With the announcement of the California “super storm,” many students at Davis High questioned what they would wear to stay warm and dry.

Students wondered if the storm would be like the forecasters warned, or if the weather stay the same as it had been recently, with a light breeze and a few drops here and there.

“It was hard to believe there was going to be the storm of the decade, I wasn’t sure what to wear,” senior Tim Nguyen said.

Students prepared different ways, each expecting a different outcome of the day, and some pulling out old cold weather cold clothes from the back of their closets.

“I decided to wear a really old rain jacket… I don’t think it is actually waterproof, it is kind of absorbing water,” sophomore Moira Williams said.

Some students suited up to battle the cold and the rain, expecting it to be as bad as foretold, with three to five inches of rain and 60 mile per hour winds.

“I expected it to be a lot worse, so I wore two pairs of pants, three pairs of socks, three jackets and a beanie,” sophomore Emma-Shane Cowan said.

Others thought that the storm wouldn’t be as bad as predicted and decided a little rain wasn’t that threatening and just dressed in their normal attire.

“I don’t mind getting wet and I don’t think it is cold out. I don’t really care [about the rain] so I just wore a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops,” junior Connor Thompson said.

“I am really sad, it didn’t rain nearly as much as expected, I could have rode my bike to school,” Williams said.
