The Davis High women’s varsity lacrosse team faced the Casa Robles Rams on Mar. 20 at 7:30. Despite the small crowd, the Blue Devils still managed to defeat the Rams 18-0.

Davis took the draw in the first half and made a beeline to the goal. Within the first five seconds, Darby Maguire scored the first goal for the Blue Devils.

Senior Delaney Coleman scored the second goal, and sophomore Jeanne Kim assisted senior Elli Meinert in the third goal.

The first half ended with the Blue Devils up 11-0.

Although quite ahead, all players continued to fight on and play offensively.

The game ended with the Blue Devils winning 18-0.

According to Minert, although the game was not the toughest match the team has faced, it was good to have the opportunity to work on other skills.

“We really worked on teamwork and looking for open passes. Instead of just driving we were able to look for different plays, and players who hadn’t touched the ball a lot were given chances,” Minert said.

The team will be preparing for the match on after spring break.

“Overall we will be working on passing and catching, defense, and having great defense so we can shut down Monte Vista,” Minert said.

The Blue Devils will be playing again on Mar. 31 against Monte Vista.
