The Davis High women’s volleyball team crushed Grant in a 3-0 win on Senior Night, Thursday, Oct. 29.

The Devils won their games 25-13, 25-11 and 25-11, beating Grant by considerable margins each time.

Before the game, Crawford gave a speech to acknowledge the seniors and to “take a couple minutes and […] celebrate them.”

As the first game started, Grant took the lead, but the Devils rallied and steadily scored points to the end of the game.

“I thought all the girls tonight did a good job at maintaining a consistent level and making sure we did our job,” head coach Julie Crawford said.

The second and third games were similar to the first; Davis struggled for a lead, but in the middle of the game, pulled away from the Pacers and swept them off their feet as they gained and maintained a lead.

“I think the whole entire game was the highlight because really there wasn’t just one standout person; we all worked together as a team and that’s what I like about us,” senior Jordan Fahey said.

For seniors Fahey, Lilly Purves, Hazel Jackson and Molly Muller, this was the last home game they will ever play at DHS.

“I was expecting for us to have fun and just live up our last moments together as a team and […] win with heart,” Fahey said. “But […] it was bittersweet. I was really happy I could be on the team this year with all my friends and everyone but it’s also sad.”

Crawford was happy with the seniors’ performances in their last game at DHS.

“I thought [the seniors] all played with confidence, [and] stepped out on the court and did a good job tonight and contributed something,” Crawford said.
