If there is one particular moment that Anna Leflore remembers of her time at Disney World, it is this: she was supervising a meet and greet with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and a large family. All the kids were very excited to meet Mickey and Minnie, but the grandmother of the children stayed in the corner of the room, watching with a smile on her face.

Leflore went to ask her if she wanted to say hi to Mickey and Minnie. She said no.

Leflore thought the grandmother didn’t want to get in the way of her grandchildren, so she went to Mickey and Minnie and told them to go and hug her. The grandmother cried happy tears.annaleflore-marianacarvajal-2

For Leflore, being able to create moments like this for guests is “amazing.”

“It’s things like this every single day,” she said. “It’s nice to bring happiness to guests. I got a degree in drama but I love interacting with people, and this brings the two together, which is fantastic.”

Leflore found her love for acting in high school, when she got cast as a lead for a musical.

“I did pretty much everything creative in high school,” she said.

After graduating from Davis High in 2010, she got a degree in drama performance. She wanted to do something related to theme park entertainment so she entered the Disney College Program in 2013. She worked there for six months, then left and then moved back to Florida on an internship that ended last may.

Now, she’s working as a performer at Sea World in Orlando.

“I can’t say I like either better,” Leflore said, comparing her time at Disney to Sea World, “but I’m thankful to be doing more things at Sea World.”

Leflore enjoys doing many different things on her free time. She’s a belly dancer, plays the ukulele and enjoys doing “anything involving singing or acting.” She even received the award of Miss Pin-Up Oklahoma 2014.

She believes her hobbies and interests set her apart from the other people at her high school.

“They are all very career driven, and though that’s important to me, I went on a different route,” Leflore said. “I look for jobs that keep me active and working with people.”

She loves her job at Sea World.

“It makes me happy. I don’t even care that it might not be practical. I’m so excited to wake up every day and I couldn’t ask for much more than that,” Leflore said.
