Davis High women’s basketball beat Sheldon High in Sacramento on Jan. 25. The score was neck and neck until the Devils pulled through in the last few seconds of the fourth quarter, making the final score 66-63.

One key player in this game was senior Cristina Oliva. In total, Oliva had a team-high 44 points and played furiously against the other team.

“We came in a little too confidently because of our record with this team but in the end we were able to pull it out,” said junior Surina Beal, one of the starters alongside Oliva.

One controversial play was made with two minutes left in the game. The Devils made a basket but got fouled on immediately after. Because of the foul, the referees said they did not see the basket being made and therefore it did not count.
