After several attempts sophomore Summer Baron was the first to penetrate the Pleasant Grove defense, sending a shot straight to the back of the net.

The Devils dribbled with determination and maintained majority possession throughout.

“Play Alana in that space so she doesn’t have to slow down,” head coach Sara Stone instructed a Davis player from the sideline.

Senior Paige Rubinstein sealed off the first half with another goal for Davis and Junior Lily Byrne was quick to contribute in the second half.

Later, sophomore Megan Looney fed senior Ruthie Mitchell a powerful cross which she sent soaring past the keeper with fifteen minutes remaining in the game.

Baron concluded the game with her second strong finish of the match resulting in the final 5-0 shutout. Davis evidently dominated the match up, justifying the program’s current top national ranking.

The Davis team will attempt to defend their perfect record on Friday Feb. 1 against rival St. Francis.
