On Friday, Nov. 9, the Davis High cross country team had their Sub-Section Championships at Calaveras County Fairgrounds in Angels Camp, California.

The race started off with the freshman men competing at 9:00 a.m., and the freshman women following at 10:30 am.

The JV men’s and women’s races competed 15 minutes after the freshmen, and the men’s and women’s varsity teams concluded the race, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Varsity men’s scored second overall with senior Zeno Castiglioni placing 11th, and senior Dice Ferrick right behind him, placing 12th.

The varsity women’s team will also move onto sectionals as they qualified as one of the top 10 teams to make the cut.

Junior Emily Castelle placed 15th, senior Surina Beal followed in 16th place, and freshman Abby Carrol was right behind, placing 17th.

Both varsity Blue Devil teams race on Saturday, Nov. 16th for the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships in Folsom. The first race starts at 9 a.m. and closes with the award ceremony at 1 p.m.

The best runners of that event will have the oppurtunity to compete for the California State Meet Championships.
