Thanks to a combined no-hitter from ace Matt Trask and closer Trey Golston, the DHS baseball team cruised to the Sac Joaquin Section Division I North finals after beating the Rocklin Thunder 6-1.

The matchup featured two of the top pitchers in the area, and both lived up to the hype. Rocklin ace Logan Webb struck out five in five innings of work, while Trask struck out six and gave up no hits in his six innings.

The Blue Devils broke open the game in the fifth, after a Jared McNece single scored Nate Curtis. After that run, the offensive floodgates opened for DHS as they scored another run in the fifth and four more in the sixth.

With the loss, Rocklin moves to the loser’s bracket, where they will play against Elk Grove on Thursday. The winner of that game will meet Davis at 4:00 in the afternoon on Friday, and will have to win two games in a row to take the SJS DI North title.
