HOMECOMING: Spirit Week

It is Spirit Week at Davis High, and some members of Student Government have provided ideas for how to dress up and get into the Blue Devil spirit.

The Spirit Day themes are as follows: ‘Merica Monday, Toga Tuesday, What not to Wear Wednesday, Throwback Thursday, and Freakishly Blue Friday.

‘Merica Monday is a patriotic dress up day–wear anything representing America, US symbols, or red, white and blue.

“I’m going to wear American flag chubbies, socks with stars and stripes on them, a shirt with a flag on it, and probably an American flag as a cape,” leader of the Spirit Week Committee and senior Jeff Stark said.

On Toga Tuesday, wear anything Greek; even a plain white house sheet can be used to make a toga. There will be toga-wrapping lessons at lunch on Monday.

What not to Wear Wednesday is a day to put on everything and anything funky you own. Go all out with clashing colors, socks with sandals or weird hats.

According to sophomore and Spirit Week Committee member Darby Maguire, on Throwback Thursday, “you can take it however you want, wear little kid clothes or like ‘80’s retro stuff.”

To close off the week, wear as much blue as possible for Freakishly Blue Friday to show support for the Blue Devils.

Make sure to show your spirit this week and dress up! “It’s good school spirit and fun to do…I know it’s hard for some themes but it’s fun,” Maguire said.
