The cheer and dance teams and student government put on a spirited display at half-time at the Sept. 26 homecoming game. The cheer team routine included back handsprings and high kicks to the theme from “Rocky”.

Following the cheer team, the dance team performed plenty of hair flips and c-jumps accompanied by Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You.”

“It’s very funny because we count all the hair flips that the dance team does,” pep-band member and sophomore Peter Conant said.

Student government grabbed the attention of the fans by propelling free foam fingers, pizza and t-shirts into the stands. There was also a wheelbarrow race across the field and a tug-of-war game.

The activities concluded with the presentation of the homecoming royalty being riding on the backs of golf carts.

Sophomore Sebastian Costa said that the show was alright but that his favorite part was “probably the tug-of-war [game] because people were struggling.”
