Davis High women’s softball fell to St. Francis 2-1 on April 26 with neither team scoring during the first two innings.

At the bottom of the third inning, all of the bases were loaded with Devils. Davis hit the ball into left field but St. Francis caught the pop fly and had its third out to finish the inning before anyone from Davis could cross home plate.

Although St. Francis snuck in a run during the fourth inning, Davis pitcher junior Brittany Steenbergen managed to get the last out when all bases were loaded with Troubies.

Davis tied the score in the sixth inning with an RBI but was unable to catch up when St. Francis had one more home run and finalized the score of 2-1 in the seventh inning.

Davis now has six overall wins and seven losses and will play Kennedy and Napa on Saturday.

This was Davis’ second game facing against St. Francis. They last played the Troubadors on April 3 but lost 0-5.
