XXXTentacion’s posthumous album, “Skins,” was released Dec. 7 and has already reached number one on Apple Music’s top album charts. This is now XXXTentacion’s third album to reach the top of the charts.

Although the album has potential of being on Billboard’s Top 200, it is only 10 songs and is not as passionate as his other albums such “?” and
“17.” This is most likely due to the fact that X’s mother and manager created it.

Usually XXXTentacions albums start with a personal message but in
“Skins,” it starts with a robotic voice trying to recreate the tradition.

After the introduction track, the album does start off with good songs such as “Guardian angel” and “Train food”. These were the most completed and sounded more like a song XXXTentacion would create.

However, many other tracks are incomplete and repetitive, such as “STARING AT THE SKY” and “what are you so afraid of.” These tracks don’t have depth even though they have unique sounds.

Kanye West was the only feature on the album. He has the first verse on track, “One minute.” His verse explains the loneliness of famous people and raps about his views on XXXTentacions accusations.

The album is only 20 minutes long which is pretty short compared to a usual album. These 20 minutes consist of the artist singing, rapping, and screaming during his 10 songs.

This album was not overall liked by X’s audience, but was listened to a lot. Before XXXTentacion died he was accused of beating his ex-girlfriend which caused great controversy for “Skins.”

No evidence of the case was released but his death and case were very controversial.

Even though this album was not XXXTentacion’s best, it gave his following an ending to his music.
