The Fall for Davis Festival was held on Oct. 16. Community members and volunteers joined together in Central Park to celebrate the season.

The event was organized by the downtown Davis business assistant event coordinator Atum Batton.

“This was a good way to get people out and enjoy the weather,” Batton said.

The event had three different activities set up: a bean bag toss, a ring toss and arts and crafts. All of the activities were free for the public to enjoy.

Additionally, the event featured a petting zoo that hosted animals from the local company, All About A Farm. Families waited patiently to pet animals such as bunnies, ducks and goats.

The festival concluded with an outdoor movie. Families cuddled up in blankets to end the day with a Halloween classic: “Hocus Pocus”.

Social distance markers were spray painted on the grass to ensure people could enjoy the movie safely.

Carol Markese, who has lived in Davis for 32 years, has attended fall celebrations in the past. “It’s always a beautiful thing seeing the community out,” Markese said.
