Devils make a splash against Monterey Trail

The Davis Men’s varsity swim team out-performed Monterey Trail at their March 23 swim meet at Arroyo Pool. Several swimmers set new best times in their events, including sophomore Griffin Molotky, who dropped several seconds in his 500-yard freestyle race.

In the 100-yard butterfly, Davis swimmers Connor Stapleton, Tyler Ujifusa, and Derek Tully placed first, second, and fourth, respectively. Stapleton, a junior, finished the race in under a minute at 57 seconds.

“They swam hard and they swam well,” head coach Tracy Stapleton said, “They could’ve had better times, but they did well as a team and as a whole.”
