As college application due dates are rapidly approaching, seniors have been finalizing and adding their final touches to their resumes. The Davis High website offers a plethora of resources for students looking to apply for their colleges.

The DHS website can be accessed through the following URL link: https://dshs.djusd.net/. One of the quickest ways to get additional help and information about the application process for specific colleges would be to contact and set up a meeting with your assigned counselor.

Seniors can schedule appointments by clicking on the Counseling option on the top bar on the DHS website. Once there, students can scroll down and find “Counselor Information” at the bottom. Students will be able to click on their assigned counselor, and a link for scheduling appointments will pop up.

Counselors have different options for meeting, one being for letters of recommendation for seniors who still need those filled out for colleges. Another option is a simple one-on-one meeting with the counselor where you can discuss problems and ask questions.

For seniors interested in applying to private colleges, under that same Counseling bar, there is an option on the left-hand side for “Counseling Resources.” Once you click on that link, there is a pdf called “Private College Recommendation Packet.”

There students can fill out a document that can be turned in to the counselor so that the counselor can write a good letter of recommendation.

Under the same counseling tab, seniors can find more information about certain colleges under the Career Center tab. The career center offers College visits, where students can go on and visit a college of their interest, and ask questions to College Reps.

There under the Career Center page, when students scroll all the way down they can find a list of information about different kinds of colleges, ranging from UC’s to CSU’s, and the steps necessary to apply for them.

The Career Center website also offers resources for students to apply for Federal Student Aid, as well as how to create accounts for certain college websites that are necessary for the application process.
