Davis High’s IPAB will soon be filled with songs and DHS Idol hopefuls. Eighteen candidates will compete, but the winner will be determined on Feb. 1.

This annual competition is hosted by the Advanced Treble Choir (ATC). The proceeds from the competition will go towards ATC’s spring break trip to New York.

“There are two nights for the preliminary round, which is on the 24 and 25 of (February). Four competitors will be chosen on both nights leaving a total of eight finalists who will compete for the winning spot,” senior and DHS Idol competitor Dustin Choi said.

The competitor who wins first place, chosen by the judges, will receive $200 while the runner-up, picked by the audience, receives $50.

During the competition, DHS will find out, according to ATC member Sierra Marie, “who earns the title of the best singer.”
