The Davis High men’s varsity soccer team cruised to a 7-0 victory against the Sheldon Huskies on Feb. 3, to finish off their regular season before playoffs. This win kept them in first place in the Delta League, giving them the league title for the first time in 34 years.

Davis took the lead just minutes into the game through junior Holt Klineberg, and after a Sheldon own goal, they quickly doubled their score. To finish off the first half, senior Justin Rager scored.

Davis then went on a scoring spree in the second half with goals from Declan Fee, two more from Holt Klineberg and Lucas Liu to finish the game with a 7-0 victory.

“I will remember Declan’s goal because he is the goalkeeper,” junior Ayush Tuladhar said.

“I thought the game was a great way to end the season and a testament to how well we’ve played all year,” junior Emanuel Tames-Kaimowitz said.

The Blue Devils took control of the game right away from the beginning of the game and never gave the Huskies a chance until the game finished. “I thought we were good at controlling the pace and keeping the game under control,” Tames-Kaimowitz said.
