The Davis High School girls golf team led their fourth game with a fantastic win over Inderkum. Inderkum High School has beaten the Blue Devils consistently in the past, but today was an impressive performance from our DHS golf team.

The team beat Inderkum, 207 to 225 strokes. Senior Saera Ohja led the team with an amazing low score of 35 securing DHS the win.

“It was very surprising that I did so well because I haven’t been below par before,” Ohja said, “It seems like my practice is paying off from this season.”

“The girls played great and it was a great game,” the girl’s head coach Dan Ariola said, “the 5 girls who competed shot a combined score of 207 through 9 holes.”

He also explains that the girl’s team is on a steady pace of becoming greater and greater each day.

Another notable performance was by freshman Lily Lingbloom who shot a low score of 39 helping lead the Blue Devils to their victory.

“I felt nervous before the match but I was able to find a good tempo, I started driving the ball well and my putting was good,” Lingbloom said, “I gained more confidence after my birdie on hole 2 and ended up shooting a 39 after 9 holes.”

“This game was proof that they are good enough to compete,” Ariola said. He also explains,” You can always improve your game of golf but damn it feels good to win.”

The girl’s golf team has not beaten Inderkum in years so the match was a day to remember.
