The spirit day theme on Wednesday brought out many diverse styles at Davis High school.

Following the theme of “Hoco wrapped,” the theme of Wednesday was inspired by the song, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears.

Each grade at DHS had their own theme of different musical genres for the day. Seniors were country, juniors were disco, and sophomores were rock.

Many seniors wore cowboy hats and flannels. Some also wore patriotic themed outfits to represent their country theme.

“[My outfit is] obviously country themed, so you know a flannel and a cowboy hat,” senior Cloe Lamoureux said.

Throughout the day spirited students were taking pictures of each other. Before school, seniors were seen outside taking pictures of each other in their country attire.

On the other hand, many juniors were decked out in bedazzled clothing. “I am wearing a hot pink sequined suit jacket for disco,” junior Vidya Merchant said.

Many juniors and sophomores wore wigs to match their respective themes and to show their spirit.

“My favorite day this week is tied between disco and jersey day, because who doesn’t want to show up to school in a hot pink sequined blazer?” Merchant said.

Lastly, sophomores were wearing their rock attire. Many wore rock band t-shirts to show their spirit.

“The inspiration behind the outfit is more Y2K rock,” sophomore Abi Chan said.

Some teachers even used Wednesday’s spirit day theme for door deck inspiration, such as Mr. Diaz, who chose to represent sophomores with the rock theme.
