Senior Nash Nunes is the Davis High varsity football captain who devotes himself to the team.

“A team captain is a person who will never give up on their team, a person who will fight until the last minute. Nash Nunes is a perfect example of this for our varsity football team,” sophomore Jesus Jimenez said.

Nunes and his team will be playing at his last homecoming game on Sept. 26 at the Davis High stadium against Elk Grove.

“My favorite part of homecoming is definitely the big crowd and the environment throughout the week,” Nunes said.

Friday’s game will be the first league game of the season. Their overall record is 1-2.

Nunes recalls that they worked well as a team but lost against River Valley on Sept. 6.

“The second game against Vintage wasn’t so good, but we bounced back the following week winning against Edison […] I believe we will win this Friday if we all have a good game and play together,” Nunes said.
