The Davis High men’s varsity basketball team lost their home game on Jan. 31 against the Consumnes Oaks Wolfpack 66-52.

The Devils were led by senior Keandre Burnes who scored 14 points on six of eight from the field to go along with his four rebounds and two blocks. “I think Keandre really had a nice game tonight,” head coach Daniel Gonzalez said.

Up until the middle of the third quarter the game was tight, with the Devils trailing 42-41. However, a 10-1 run by the Wolfpack gave them a 10 point lead and they never looked back. “I think we just started losing confidence in ourselves and our abilities during that run and we just started forcing shots,” junior Noah Salmon said.

Salmon had two points and a rebound shooting one for three from the field.

“To move forward we need to work on communication on defense and fluidity on offense, we were getting a little bit stagnant out there,” Gonzalez said.

Other notable performances include junior Jordan Sacramento’s five rebounds which led the team as well as an 11 point, four rebound, three assist game from senior Jackson Isidor.

This brings the team’s overall record on the season to 6-12 and a 2-6 record in league play. The next game for the Blue Devils will be on Feb. 2 at Elk Grove at 7 PM.
