The Davis High women’s basketball team defeated River City 70-50 at an away game in Sacramento on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

Davis played catch-up in the first quarter, ending with a score of 12-16.  In the second quarter, the Blue Devils gained control of the game, outscoring the Raiders 29-25.

“As a team we need to find a way to start our games with energy on the court and the bench and keep that energy throughout the whole game,” junior Anika Kingsley said.

Picking up momentum in the second half, DHS steadily grew its lead, ending the fourth quarter with a comfortable 20-point cushion.

“We had many stretches where we played tremendous team basketball and we helped each other get shots and transitioned well for lots of points,” Kingsley said.

Sophomore Kelsey Forrester led the Blue Devils with 22 points.
